'What's in my bag' posts are some of my favourites to read and watch. There is something so fascinating about what others carry around with them, as the contents of our bags are pretty unique and personal. That said, my version of this post might be super boring, since I don't really carry anything interesting around with me. But without further ado, I thought I'd share with you the things I use on a daily basis, and never leave the house without.
1. My Fjallraven Kanken
Let's start off with the bag I use. I've had this trusty backpack in the colour Frost Green for almost five years, and I'll probably be using it for many years to come. I love its durability and timeless style, plus the fact that it seems pretty indestructible. I'm sure I overload mine on a daily basis so that it's bursting, but it's yet to fail me like most of my previous backpacks. One thing I will say is that the straps aren't the most comfortable, but you can invest in some of the shoulder pads if it causes you problems. Mine is beginning to look a little faded and vintage now, since my Mum washed (and tumble dried) it last year. Thanks mama.
2. Beats Executive Headphones
These headphones are one of my most treasured possessions, and they're approaching two years old. My favourite feature is the noise cancelling which makes them perfect for listening to music and podcasts on my noisy commutes to college. My least favourite feature is the fact that they're battery operated, and you have to switch them on every time you want to use them. The awesome sound quality outweighs the cons though, so I'm happy! They also came with a travel case and interchangeable wires (one with volume control, and one without). I've just done a little research and it seems that Beats themselves have discontinued this model, but they're still available on Amazon. I'm no tech nerd, but I'm crazy about these. Oh, and because there's nothing worse than leaving the house and realising you've forgotten your headphones, I also carry the small apple earplugs which came with my iPod.
3. IPod Touch
Speaking of my iPod, I am using the 5th generation Touch in blue. If you know me, you'll know that it scarcely leaves my hands (or ears) - I love my music. Again, I've had this for years and it continues to serve me well.
4. Moleskine Notebook
This is my fifth moleskine to date, and I get the classic black one every time. My current one is in size large, with squared pages and a hard cover. As of last year, I'm crazy about bullet journalling and can't imagine my life without it. This notebook comes absolutely everywhere with me. Moleskines are unrivaled in my opinion; the paper quality is so beautiful and the simplicity of the design (complete with ribbon page marker) does the job perfectly.
I got this purse for Christmas, and I love it! If you know me, you'll know that I can't resist glittery things and so this is the perfect purse for me. Unfortunately I can no longer find it on the Monki website, but I do have my eye on this silver one. All of their wallets are super cute and very well priced, plus they are always bringing out new ones. Besides money and some spare bobby pins, I also carry my Holland & Barrett card, plus a bunch of coffee shop and cafe loyalty cards. I use these all the time!
6. 1984 Canvas Pouch
I picked up this pouch just over a year ago, and it serves as the perfect pencil case (I carry a lot of stationery). Size-wise it's more like a make up bag, but it works perfectly for me. Being one of my favourite novels, I squealed with excitement when I realised that Out of Print has a 1984 version of their pouch! But check out their others too in case there's one that floats your boat. I've got my eye on the Edgar Allan Poe one, although I definitely don't need another pencil case.
7. Life Factory Bottle
I LOVE this water bottle! I kind of suck at hydration, but my Mum recently treated me to this, and it's surprising how much easier it is to drink water when you find the right receptacle! (I've never used he word receptacle in my life before now). Life Factory is such an awesome brand; they use all eco-friendly materials and their glass is free from BPA or other nasties. A glass bottle is always a great choice because they are extremely hygienic, won't make your drink taste funny (as I find plastic bottles often do) and are really environmentally friendly. I know you can also buy these in Planet Organic stores, as well as in Wholefoods which is where I found mine.
Anyway, that's all from me. Wishing you a calm and positive week!
Love,
